Dear Fifth Grade Students and Parents in Mrs. Sanchez’s classroom,
I am so excited that you will be a student in my class! I know that you are eager to begin the school year prepared, so I have compiled a list of supplies that you will want to have for the school year. These items will help to keep you organized and comfortable in your new classroom.
I will gladly accept donations of extra supplies (such as copy paper, cardstock, hand sanitizer, Lysol/handy wipes, printer ink cartridges (HP 564), markers, colored pencils, Sharpies, scissors-for student use, Mr. Sketch markers, games for rainy days, and prizes for our reward system.), and I will be happy to assist if you are unable to supply any of the requested items for any reason, as they are donations—please let me know as soon as possible.
Personal Items (Kept at student’s desk)
- 1 pack- Loose-leaf notebook paper (3 hole punched—college or wide ruled is fine)
- 1 box of Ticonderoga Pencils (no plastic coated pencils, please)
- 2 colored correcting Pens (not black ink)
- Backpack (sturdy and comfortable)
- 2 single-subject notebooks
- 1 Composition Notebook/Journal
- Subject dividers for binder -1 pack of 5 (no pockets)-Label with English, Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies
- Zippered pouch for binder
- Clear-view pocket cover binder (2 inch size)
- Pencil sharpener with shavings container
- Two or more thin highlighters
- Scissors-label with name
- 5 Clear sheet protectors
- markers/colored pencils
- 3x3 sticky notes
- Sharpies (thin and regular tip)
- thin tip dry erase markers
- 2 pocket folders
Shared Items (Items to be used by all members of the classroom)
- · 1 box of Ticonderoga pencils
- · 2 reams of white copy paper
- · 1 ream of colored copy paper
- · Baby wipes
- · Lysol/Clorox disinfecting wipes
- · 1 box of Kleenex
- · Sticky notes of various sizes
Please feel free to purchase optional items that can fit in your backpack (not loose in your desk): mini-stapler, ruler, etc.

In addition, here are some supplies that you should have on hand at home for your homework center:dictionary, thesaurus, colored pencils, scissors, ruler, graph and notebook paper, glue sticks, and a protractor.
